An Afternoon Tea Party including the sale of plants, homebaking, other items and a raffle, was held recently at the home of Cecil Hill and Dorothie Richardson in Monageer in memory of Fergus Hemmingway. Supported by members of the Co. Wexford Garden & Flower Club, the Hemmingway family, parishioners of Killanne and Killegney Union and many friends, it proved an overwhelming success due to a combination of excellent weather, willing hands, hard work and great support, both physically and financially.
The total amount raised was €3,535 and on 5th September cheques for €1,765.50 were presented to both the Friends of Wexford General Hospital and the Hope Cancer Support Centre in Enniscorthy.
