Wexford MRI now – Wexford Hospital Needs an MRI Now

The Friends of Wexford General Hospital’s mission is to fundraise and to help others fundraise to improve patient care at our hospital, a hospital that we are all very proud of.

There are well over 2500 MRI scans performed on people from Wexford each year, each necessitating patients to travel to Waterford, Dublin or Cork.  This number is growing every year.  Transportation to these other hospitals does cause considerable stress for many patients and in this day and age it is not unreasonable to expect that this medical imaging and diagnostics machine is on-site here in Wexford General Hospital.

It has been recognised by Ireland East (Health Group) that every major hospital in the region should have this scanner in place.  Inpatients will not have to be transported to other hospitals and outpatients will have shorter waiting times and will not have to travel for their MRI scan.

This diagnostic tool is a must for Wexford General Hospital and this is why Friends of Wexford General Hospital need your help.

The HSE will fund the vast majority of this project and many others across the country.  By providing a local contribution, our project can get moved up the list of capital projects.  We need this MRI and we need it NOW!!

We have a goal to raise €250,000 and if you can do just one thing to help us raise funds, then we CAN make this happen.

A coffee morning, a sponsored run or any event that will raise valuable funds, big or small, will go a long way to helping us hit our goal and secure an MRI for Wexford.

Please spread the word, we need all the help we can get.
